The Performance Shred Program is your off season fat loss program to help you get lean, stay lean, while building durability, movement quality, and athletic explosiveness all at the same time.
This program comprises four key phases – Capacity, Boost, and Intensity – each strategically building upon the last to develop essential qualities for fat loss, lean muscle building, and athletic performance improvement, while reducing the risk of injury from unnecessary body fat.
Capacity
A crucial initial step in achieving fat loss, enhancing recovery and longevity, and elevating athleticism is the development of our work capacity. This phase serves as the foundation for our more subsequent, intense phases. In essence, it is our preparation phase where we establish a strong base of muscular endurance, conditioning, and movement readiness so we can crush the phases ahead!
Boost
We all want to look good, feel good, get shredded, and perform our best. The “Eye Test” in sport yields significant influence, making the development and maintenance of lean muscle mass a pivotal aspect of this pursuit. During this phase, our focus is on amplifying our lean muscle gains, not only to boost our confidence and well-being, but also elevate our metabolic rate, strength, power and resilience – essential qualities for excelling in sports and everyday life. Additionally, this emphasis on building strong muscles and connective tissue serves as a proactive measure against injuries, providing added protection.
Intensify
Over the last two phases we’ve reduced our body fat, built lean muscle mass and gotten stronger. To excel in sport however, we want to cultivate superior “movement strength” to enhance our movement efficiency on the court and ensure our physical gains are honed to meet the demands.
When we enhance our movement strength, we not only elevate our relative force production, but also unlock a new level of athleticism to become strong in sport specific positions and prepared for higher intensity strength and plyometric training.
